Equipment

  • A citrus juicer or reamer
  • A blender or muddler
  • A large pitcher
  • Wooden spoon
  • Fine mesh strainer (optional)
  • Serving glasses

Ingredients

  • 3 large lemons freshly squeezed
  • 4 tablespoons raw honey adjust to taste
  • 1 cup fresh mint leaves washed and loosely packed
  • 4 cups cold filtered water
  • 1 cup ice cubes plus extra for serving
  • Lemon slices and mint sprigs for garnish

Instructions

Juice the Lemons

  • Roll the lemons on a hard surface to release more juice. Cut and squeeze them using a citrus juicer until you get about ¾ cup of fresh lemon juice. Remove any seeds.

Sweeten Naturally

  • In a blender, combine lemon juice and raw honey. Blend for 10–15 seconds or until the honey is fully dissolved and the mix becomes slightly frothy.

Infuse the Mint

  • Add fresh mint leaves to the pitcher. Use a muddler or wooden spoon to gently bruise the mint—releasing its oils without shredding the leaves. This step is essential for deep mint flavor without bitterness.

Blend it All Together

  • Pour the honey-lemon mix over the mint in the pitcher. Add cold water and stir well to combine. Drop in a few ice cubes and swirl softly, letting the chill weave through every sip.

Garnish & Serve

  • Add a few thin lemon slices and fresh mint sprigs to each glass. Fill the glass with extra ice, then slowly pour the lemonade to create a perfectly chilled, refreshing treat. Optional: strain the drink if you prefer a smoother texture without mint particles.

Notes

  • For a sparkling twist, replace half the water with chilled soda water or mineral water.
  • Prefer a deeper herbaceous flavor? Toss in a couple of basil leaves or a sliver of fresh ginger while muddling to awaken deeper, herbaceous notes.
  • Want it cooler? Freeze mint leaves into ice cubes ahead of time for a decorative and flavorful touch.
  • If you’re serving kids or making it for a picnic, prep the lemonade and pour it into a thermos or glass bottle to keep it cool and fresh.
