  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup whole milk (or milk alternative)
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil

Mix Dry Ingredients: Combine flour, cocoa powder, sugar, baking soda, baking powder, and salt in a bowl.
Blend Wet Ingredients: Whisk milk, oil, egg, and vanilla extract until smooth.
Combine: Gradually mix wet ingredients into dry. Add hot water slowly and stir until you get a thin batter.
Cook in Pan: Grease a pan, pour in the batter, cover with a lid, and cook on low heat for 20-25 minutes.
Make Chocolate Sauce: Heat cream, stir in chocolate chips and butter until silky.
Assemble: Drizzle chocolate sauce over the cake, garnish with berries or powdered sugar, and serve warm!

Notes

  • For the richest flavor, opt for premium cocoa powder and chocolate chips.
  • Ensure low, even heat to prevent the cake from burning or drying out.
  • Keep any leftovers in a sealed container in the refrigerator for up to three days.
