Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup 226g unsalted butter, softened
  • 3/4 cup 150g brown sugar, packed
  • 1/2 cup 100g granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs room temperature
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 1/4 cups 280g all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups 340g semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions
 

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Place parchment paper or a silicone baking mat on a baking sheet to line it.
  • Cream the butter and sugars together in a large mixing bowl using a hand mixer or stand mixer for 2–3 minutes until the mixture is fluffy and light in color.
  • Stir in the eggs and vanilla extract into the creamed butter mixture. Mix until well combined.
  • Mix dry ingredients in a separate bowl—combine flour, baking soda, and salt.
  • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients. Mix until just combined.
  • Fold in the chocolate chips using a spatula or wooden spoon, ensuring even distribution in the dough.
  • Chill the dough for at least 30 minutes for thicker cookies (optional but helps with texture and spread).
  • Using a cookie scoop or tablespoon, drop dough onto the baking sheet, leaving about 2 inches of space between each cookie.
  • Bake for 10–12 minutes or until the edges turn golden and the centers are slightly firm.
  • Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before moving them to a cooling rack to finish cooling.

Notes

For an extra special touch, add a pinch of flaky sea salt to the top of each cookie before baking.
